In the United Nations General Assembly held on June 9th, 2022, the Republic of Mozambique along with other four countries, were elected as non-permanent member of the United Nations General Assembly for a two year term starting on January 1st, 2023.
Mozambique was elected with 192 votes representing hundred percent of the votes of the nations present at that UN General Assembly session. Their main task will be to be part of the main world decisions on Peace and Security, joining thus far other permanent veto-wielding members.
